As you might know during the mid 90's I tried very hard to investigate the illegal adoptions that took place in the 40's, 50's and the 60's in Greece.

We managed to change the archaic law regarding adoptions and at least adoptees are allowed access at their biological birth certificates.

There is a catch though. The municipalities' logs are all altered.

Adoptees have at least two entries each.

People are not allowed to search through the records any longer, because then Prime Minister C. Simitis' brother Spyros, created the Data Protection Authority.

The Data Protection Authority is supposedly independent.

In name only. There is no such thing as an independent authority in Greece.

Its members are appointed fat cats, accountable to no-one, wronged citizens are not allowed to take legal action against them and they are dedicated to protecting all the criminal elements in Greece, like murderers, child molesters, thugs including all the unscrupulous social workers in the municipalities, who lie to the adult adoptees every single day. 

The Simitis Administration (1996-2004) and their paranoid secrecy, has created monster individuals who prey on the Greek born American adoptees, through a certain website, which is a private company. 

Was the PM really paranoid or there was another reason for this secrecy?

No-matter which way you look at it, secrecy breeds corruption!     

The thing that bothered me the most was the fact that the bureaucrats and all sorts of officials did everything in their power to cover up the whole matter, bearing in mind that the statute of limitations does not allow any criminal prosecutions...

The persons who committed those terrible acts were dead after all.. Well most of them! If you are asking "Why", you are not alone!!!

The Institutions had to be protected, I mean their... money!!!

No-one and I mean no-one cared about the lives affected by this monstrosity. The cover up though is always worse than the crime itself... It shows that officials never learn!!!

It's something like a curse in this country.

Every major event or case is either messed up or covered up!

The Ben Needham Abduction, which I researched very thoroughly and written dozens of memos to the authorities, is another example of monumental corruption and sheer incompetence.

All and all I think I have broken the world record writting memos to the officials regarding illegal adoptions and Ben's case.

If I were to measure them up in miles, I would say Athens to London is just about right.
